Project goal

A platform accessible to job seekers in the midst of their careers, where they are guided, inspired, and provided with job proposals based on their CV, interests, personality, and various life experiences and skills in a structured, enjoyable, and straightforward manner.

During the research phase I used several methods to narrow down and identify the biggest issues.

Solution concept

The project resulted in a platform with personalized results and gamified aspects. The prototype was tested in two rounds and iterated after each.

Personalized profession matches

Users fill in their profile with not only past jobs and educations, but personal interests and traits that generate tags. These tags are connected to different professions and result in personalized matches of new professions.

Detailed profession overview

Each profession has an interface showing how well they match with this profession, what they can do to switch careers and details like average pay, future outlook and usual working hours.

Gamification

A few gamification aspects were used to make searching for new careers fun. Users can set personal goals about work or education and fulfill them with milestones until they reach the main goal. Users also receive badges based on what their profile says about them or when reaching new goals.

Career searching made fun

Users perceived the prototype as fun and appealing even without actively looking for new careers, making career search fun instead of a boring task.

Diverse profession categories

Users valued the profession interfaces for their inclusion of diverse categories of information, such as standard workplace features and relevant personal attributes.

Personalized matches

Users appreciated getting personalized profession matches based not only on past jobs and educations but their whole personality.
